RESPITE
IN THE HOME - (STEKI TIS HARAS)Respite In the Home (Steki Tis Haras) is a Commonwealth Funded respite program that aims to provide a regular and much needed break for carers. The program is targeted for elderly of Greek speaking background who are low level care, mobile, and experience early to mild dementia and would benefit from socialization.
Clients need to reside in the Southern Metropolitan region of Melbourne in areas such as City of Stonington, Kingston, Port Philip.
Where and When The program is run every Thursday between 9.30am – 3.00pm (excluding Public Holidays) East Bentleigh
Cost Clients are required to contribute $5 per session. Each session includes morning and afternoon tea and a Greek midday meal.
Activities Provided Activities offered may include the following: Discussion Groups Games Arts and Crafts Music Companionship Reading Gentle exercise program Outings
Transport Carers/families are encouraged to provide transportation. The Co-ordinator can also assist in arranging this in certain exceptional cases and this will be determined at initial assessment.
